Penguin Love --Blog Candy

Here's a card I made for the Squigglefly Challenge this week. The theme for this week is called "Have a Heart, Please" so the only requirement is that the card contains a heart somewhere. I think the penguins themselves on this card show so much heart! Of course though, there's a heart on the little one's chest and a heart in the embellishment that I painted with Smooch.
I wish the image did this card more justice as both the papers are shiny metallic lustre and so shimmery. This image comes from Squigglefly and is called "Penguin Family". It is a newly released image (click here).

Let me add a blog candy question for the day, what's your favorite animal for making cards? Also, be sure an check the winner list (there's one on Feb 1st, and one on Feb 15th), new names have been added! See your name? drop me an email with your address, htondre@aol.com

Project Materials: Cardstock (AC Lustre, Paper Temptress, Neenah); Digi Stamp (Squigglefly), Bling (Michaels); Sticker (Hobby Lobby); Color (Copic markers); Punch (Martha Stewart); Die Cut (Spellbinders Nestabilities);

Captivated By Silence

Here's a stunning stamp from Sweet Pea artist Anna Marine called "Captivated by Silence" (Plate #160). This stamp takes my breath away. She's stunning. Be sure to take a look at the artist's coloring, it's very different from mine, so it gives you some idea of the beautiful range of this stamp. I did this card in many wonderful shades of pink. I have really been in pink mode lately, huh? Some of this women are just so beautiful that I just see the pink in them!Here's a close up of the image itself showing the coloring in Copic Markers.

I also added some ribbon and beautiful lace from Turkey. This image just makes me want to go grab more of this artist's wonderful stamps. Be sure to check out the awesome post christmas sale at the store.

Squigglefly Challenge

Hello and Happy Monday! Can you believe we are already at the first monday of December? I can hardly believe that. The Squigglefly Challenge this week is a good one. This week the challenge is to make a card that is "Based on a Song." I am sure you can guess what my song is, just by reading my card! This fun stamp is called "Trimming the Tree." But to qualify for the game this week, I call this card "Oh Christmas Tree."
So take a little break, hop on over to the Squigglefly Blog and put on your thinking caps! Use any fun stamp and think up some great song lyrics or names, that go with your favorite Squigglefly stamp. Need a starting idea? How about something simple like maybe...Happy Birthday to You? Jolly ol' Saint Nick? Hound Dog? Dance with me? Did I give you some fun ideas? show me what you got....

Project Materials: Cardstock (Neenah, DCWV); Digi Stamp (Squigglefly); Color (Copic Markers); Punch (Martha Stewart); Buttons (Jesse James); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue Dots, Glue All); Brads (Making Memories); Saying (Self printed); Die Cut (Nestabilities);
